Pond Liner Splice and Repair Kits

To splice or join together 2 pieces of pond liners you need Seam Prep to clean and activate both pond liner edges, 2-sided quickseam tape (3 or 7" wide), a roller to roll smooth the joined liners and make sure there is a good adhesion, a bead of lap sealant to go over the overlapped edge, and a piece of cover strip to go over the overlapped edge.  Applying another bead of lap sealant over both edges of the cover strip is a good idea as well.  You can find all those products listed below.  Do see the splice kit installation instructions for complete, step-by-step instructions.   Part of the hint for a successful mending of the two liners is to have the area cleaned really well and roll out the seam tape to make sure there are no air bubbles.   Apply the seam tape like the instructions show, from one end to the other.   The seam tape is VERY, VERY sticky and once it touches a surface it is there for good, so be careful on what you are doing and how you are unrolling the seam tape and unroll a few inches at a time.  The seam tape has a waxed paper type of paper that the tape is rolled up in so you can press down on the waxed papered seam tape and then once in place, gently pull off the waxed papered paper.  It's kind of tricky so do a little at a time and don't have any distractions.  Really press over the entire tape over and over before you peel off the waxed paper to make sure there is a good adhesion.

Quickseam Splice Tape (2-sided)
Use this 2-sided tape to join two pieces of EPDM liner together.   Available in 3" or 7" wide rolls.  For maximum sealing use cover strip in conjunction with this tape.

Seam Prep/ Primer/Activator
A solution to prime the seam area of the EPDM pond liner prior to the application of Quickseam tape.  Without a properly cleaned surface, the Quickseam tape will not mend properly.

Quick Seam Cover Strip
A 6" wide adhesive tape factory laminated to EPDM membrane that is used to seam two panels of PondGard membrane.  This is used to put over the already seamed edge (can use Quick Seam 2-sided tape or tape kit above to seam together two panels of liner).  The cover strip adds additional protection to the seamed membranes so there is no water leakage.

Lap Sealant
A rubber-based sealant used to seam exposed membrane edges to provide additional water proofing protection.  It can also be used as a quick-applied sealant to repair punctures to PondGard pond liners.  10 oz. tube seals approximately 25 linear feet and is applied using a standard caulk gun.
